This is a fine piece of hand made woodwork. I would say that because I made this! This piece of wood was a piece from a felled tree that had been ravaged by Honey Fungus. The wood has been dried out naturally over 2 years then sanded to be very smooth. This piece of wood is very tactile and very pleasing to the touch. The wood was hand finished with grades of sand paper up to wet and dry 2000 grade. 7 coats of wax was then applied with polishing in between each coat. The final 2 coats were applied with 1000 grade wire wool then buffed to a beautiful finish.
The final finishing touch was the attachment and securing of the clock mechanism and hook for hanging the piece on the wall which was the requirement of the client.
